Tess Joly started playing the viola at the age of 6. She began her musical studies at the Aix-en-Provence Conservatory, then at the Boulogne-Billancourt CRR, before entering, in 2013, the Paris Conservatory. Fond of chamber music, Tess is a founding member of the Gaïa quartet, back in 2014. From there, she had the opportunity to work alongside J. Sulem, F. Salque and the Ebène Quartet. In 2019, she joined the Akilone quartet and has been on a musical and human adventure ever since with them.
